Everyone is talking about Phelps (um, they need to because he is the best athlete in the world folks; yes, that includes Federer, Woods, and Tomlinson). But I gotta give props to the girl who went to the high school of my hometown for 10 years. Word up to Plainsboro, NJ!
Three days after Soni picked up her first Olympic hardware, the Jersey girl had the swim of her life Friday in a gold-medal performance that had people scrambling to find Plainsboro on a map.
Soni had a stunning 200-meter breaststroke victory in a world-record time of 2 minutes, 20.22 seconds, edging nemesis Leisel Jones of Australia. When it was over, the 21-year-old Soni let out a celebratory scream, raised her right hand in victory and took a few deep breaths of relief.

Now I shall fix another screwdriver this Friday night and watch the Baltimore phenom (my sis lives in Mt. Airy so it's still a homey thing there, in a way) grab another world record which he needs to in order to win it methinks!

Ambiguity warning:
"the girl who went to the high school of my hometown for 10 years" can be rendered either (as I think you intended) "the town which has been my hometown for the past 10 years" or (as I initially read it) "the girl who went to high school for 10 years" (what? that long?!!). Might I suggest an emendation to something like "the girl who went to the high school of what has now been my hometown for 10 years."

Ha! My brain popped on that one my friend. My youngest bro in law went to the same HS (WW-P North) as Soni and I lived in West Windsor-Plainsboro from 1998 through 2003. Then just north in Franklin Twp. until 2006. So I am an official "townie" even though there are not many "townies" in NJ
