With the recent language about Bentley I want to say, Are you kidding me???

In stepping down, Bentley will also refrain from all public ministries, including his meetings in south Florida which have attracted about 300,000 people to a church and baseball stadium since April.

“In the meantime, he’s going to get himself refreshed,” said Ken Greter, International Missions Director for Fresh Fire Ministries. A 38-city stadium tour of American cities has been postponed. Greter, who is also a member of the board of directors, said Fresh Fire Ministries will be notifying ministries in the fall if and when a tour will occur.

Bentley is spending time with friends in California and was unavailable for comment Sunday. Greter said when he spoke with Bentley on Saturday, the faith healer was in a “good frame of reference.”

Vancouver Sun - Divisive evangelist resigns from leadership position

Of course he will have a tour.  He needs to make some dough to pay people who are now covering his ass.  When someone admits to an unhealthy relationship with a woman not his spouse two responses that come to mind that are not very constructive are that he is going to get “refreshed” and that “he is in a ‘good frame of reference’”.  What does that mean?  So is he now fulfilling his emotional relationship in order to get refreshed or something?  So what is Shonnah’s “frame of reference” in all of this?  Is it good for her too?  Is she getting refreshed?  Does she have that apparent luxury?  I am sure his kids are getting their frames of reference refreshed as well.

Why is Fresh Fire pouring honey over the pile of dung this situation really is?  As a good friend of mine from the South says, “Don’t piss on me and tell me that it’s raining”.  The gall.  The audacity that Bentley’s supporters are responding with to this situation continues to be repugnant.

Well, i am just perplexed about what Christian folks do to a person who had an "unhealthy relationship on an emotional level with a female member". And yet they seem to embrace others who have done far worse like a guy who gave his wife to someone else just to save his life Genesis 12:11-15 And yet they sit an tell stories of valor of some guy who slept with a wife of one his staffers. 2 Samuel 11:2-5 And yet they seem to accept an innocent guy who ordered one of his own staff to be killed 1 Samuel 11:14-15

Will someone explain what in the world is an "unhealthy relationship on an emotional level"? If charge is worthy to destroy a man?

You can embrace people who are honest about what they do. My issue is that this guy has been revered beyond his nature as a human being and when he does something that reveals how frail he really is, they continue to revere him and give him a free pass where others would likely be condemned for it. If he was not placed on a pedestal of "godly anointing" I would not have much of an issue to be honest. If he came out and said right off that he screwed up and hurt his family, I would not have posted a thing. If Fresh Fire had come out and used language that did not water down this guy's failures in his personal life, I would be cool with that too and would have not posted anything.

I would have posted this stuff if he took the same role of Peter Popoff and went back to the same stuff as if nothing happened. That's likely to happen. I Can see it and that bothers me when what I think is a charlatan is ripping people off, not financially (that I know of) but psychologically and spiritually. If someone you trust leads you into moving traffic before looking both ways, it's better to pause and check for yourself so you don't get run over. People are following this guy into moving traffic and that is troubling to me.

And I don't embrace rape, torture, dismemberment, forced sodomy, slavery, or any of that either - all of which are in the bible. I don't embrace everything that is in the bible either. Some of that is there, I think, so we can improve on the past. We have not learned a hell of a lot, but we have, as a species, made some improvements here and there.

The spokes-creature's comments make it sound like he is a celeb undergoing detox. Maybe his California abode is the Betty Ford Clinic.

I definitely would prefer to hear something about how Todd is repentant about what's going on...
