I cannot confirm this story via Focus on the Family's website and have not been able to corroborate it with any conservative media outlets. I totally agree with this statement on rational grounds alone, yet it does seem to contradict the opinions of others in the GOP who would no doubt consider anyone with tendencies other than strict heterosexuality an "activist judge." I think this is a rather big turn coming from Focus on the Family if it is indeed true.
The spokesperson confirms the group won’t oppose a gay SCOTUS nominee over sexual orientation.
“We agree with Senator Sessions,” Bruce Hausknecht, a spokesperson for Focus on the Family, which was founded by top religious right figure James Dobson, told me a few minutes ago. “The issue is not their sexual orientation. It’s whether they are a good judge or not.”
Their sexual orientation “should never come up,” he continued. “It’s not even pertinent to the equation.”

Guess we will have to wait to see how it spins off now.

If a gay judge is inherently an activist judge, then a straight judge is inherently an activist judge. EVERYONE has an orientation which informs their point of view. Nice to hear that for once the -activists- from the religious right don't have their head up their ass.
What's your take on this horrendous story from Scotland?

disgusting, vile, and sad. has absolutely nothing to do with the possibility of a homosexual scotus judge.
